At the beginning of February the IV National Congress ATASIO (Academy of Advanced Technologies in Oral Hygiene Sciences) was held in Rome at the Department of Odontostomatological Sciences of the University of Rome “Sapienza”. The conference focused on the difficult and delicate issue of patient management in orthodontic treatment, an important challenge for professionals, dental hygienists and dentists, confronting them with problems of a different nature. The knowledge of the different types of orthodontic therapies available are an important step in being able to implement personalized oral health maintenance plans. These maintenance plans must make use of the most modern and effective technologies available to support daily clinical practice: any personalized and effective maintenance plan cannot ignore the knowledge of validated scientific and clinical evidence, such as those presented in support of the use of Mucomixx, rightly an innovative element in difficult clinical contexts such as canker sores, halitosis, periodontitis and the chronicization of cariogenic processes. The objective of the Congress is to provide professionals with the key elements for an appropriate and effective management of oral hygiene in the orthodontic patient before, during and in the follow-up of therapy.
